Natalie Martinez (born July 12, 1984) is an American actress and model. She is known as the spokesmodel for J.Lo by Jennifer Lopez, and for her role in the 2008 feature film Death Race.[1] She also starred in a music video titled "Rain Over Me" by Pitbull, also featuring Marc Anthony. She has appeared in several music videos and telenovelas. From 2010 to 2011, Martinez starred in the crime drama series Detroit 1-8-7 as Detective Ariana Sanchez. From 2012 to 2014, she starred as the pilot in 9/11 as Detective Jamie Lovato and Deputy Linda Esquivel in the sci-fi drama series Under the Dome. She recently starred as Detective Theresa Murphy in the Fox police drama APB, which was canceled on May 11, 2017 after one season. She also starred as Reece, a time travelling refugee with superhuman abilities in ABC's science fiction drama The Crossing which was also canceled after one season on May 11, 2018.

Early life and education[]

Martinez was born in Miami, Florida and is of Cuban ancestry.[2] She is a 2002 graduate of St. Brendan High School.[3]

Martinez is perhaps best known for her role as Michelle Miller on MyNetworkTV telenovela, Fashion House. She was cast as a major character in Chuck, and appears in first-season promotional pictures of the cast. However, her character was cut before the series aired.[4] She starred in the 2008 film Death Race. From 2010 to 2011, Martinez also starred in the television crime drama Detroit 1-8-7 as Detective Ariana Sanchez, which was canceled after one season. From 2012 to 2013, she starred in the American television crime drama CSI: NY as Detective Jamie Lovato.

Martinez starred as Deputy (later Sheriff) Linda Esquivel in the CBS drama Under the Dome, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, from 2013 to 2014 until her character was killed in the season two premiere. She also appeared in the 2012 film End of Watch, the 2013 film Broken City and in the 2015 film Self/less.[5]

In September 2018, it was announced that Martinez was cast in the main role of Chase on the Netflix science-fiction series The I-Land.[6]
